Why create new clothes?

Upcycling and creativity: the pleasure of imagining, making and wearing
Faced with textile overproduction, a sense of vertigo, of saturation: too many clothes, too fast. And sometimes the urge to quit, to change careers. Yet, one pleasure remains: touching the fabric, working with the material, rediscovering a connection to craftsmanship. But also creating, transforming, wearing clothes.
How to reconcile the pleasure of creating clothes with overproduction?
Seizing the pleasure of upcycling to transform textile overproduction. Nothing new, really. Making something new from something old is an age-old skill. My grandmother, a seamstress, was already doing it in her youth. Creating within constraints: inventiveness can also be born from there.

Upcycling, humor, and emotion: transforming rather than throwing away
I salvage clothes destined to disappear and transform them with humor, sensitivity, and creativity. It's a way to address overproduction without being overwhelmed, by offering a more vibrant, expressive, and sustainable fashion, where each piece tells a new story.
Creating differently to offer a necessary alternative to traditional production
I develop inventive and sustainable practices, aware that we will be wearing clothes for a long time to come. Imagining other ways of creating becomes essential to address overproduction, transform existing products and open a more responsible, vibrant and desirable path.

Sewing skills and a naive creative approach
My journey between designer brands and the craft of tailoring has shaped my vision of clothing. The VINCENT ESCLADE brand blends this with an artistic approach that is sometimes naive, but always sensitive.
An artistic and reflective approach to clothing
I conceive of clothing as a personal and social object, blending creativity and sensitivity, where codes and subversions nourish an artistic approach that connects and shapes each individual.
